I for one second won't deny that I am a Sony fan simply because I agree 100% with the direction Sony is taking, if that makes me a fanboy, so be it.

But I strongly disagree with the idea of my 'rants' being "fanboy rants".
I try to give as detailed reasons and explanations to everything I say and why I say them.

That's okay Eddy, next time you are annoyed with something happening, just take a step back or two.
Anger on internet always makes you look bad.
I'll easily let this one go though.

Well you still can't agree with the concept of "next gen starts when we say it does" because it just doesn't.

There are certain things which will get people's backs up and it seemed to me like a piece of bait to antagonize, I personally didn't say anything because there is little point.

But i can see why it would agitate certain people.

Well personally, it's just an ironic and funny coincidence that Uncharted and Heavenly Sword both pretty much represent my first real gasping moments of "man, this isn't even remotely last gen anymore!" awe.

I felt that way with Condemned though a bit. Simply because of the astonishing animation and sound in that it set itself a part with a gigantic margin. But since then - even though I've had tons of fun and games have looked stunning - I've not felt that proper heart-beats-faster thingy.

But in MS defense and to counter Sony's point, by the time Uncharted comes out the PS3 has been out for little over a year, so next gen hardly started with the launch of the PS3 either.

Well that may be true of some of the stuff on 360, but BD was the first sign for me, obviously you are still waiting to be wowed by that when it is released over here.

I also think Kameo was a pretty awesome looking game it terms of graphics.

The thing is with the two games you mention (and i have said this before) is that the animation is just as good (if not better) as the graphics, something which can't be said for many of the 360 games.

I feel that great animation will be more important than graphics this generation, something can look photorealistic, but if it doesn't move convincingly then whats the point.

I wasn't hugely impressed by Heavenly Sword and Uncharted (although they do look decent), i think Rachet and Clank is so much more than either of those games, but perhaps i'm being narrow minded and only letting the art style appeal to my senses again :P

Yes but that has nothing to do with when the next gen started, it started 1.5yrs ago, i admit the these devs have been putting out allot of below par games on the 360, but thats them being lazy and trying to make a quick buck.. but there are more than a few that have put out next-gen games from over a year ago on the 360.

I just think that statment of "nextgen starts when sony says it dose" is bullshit, and thoes that belive it are blind sony fanboys!!

Every year the games on BOTH platforms are going to get better and better, so what are we going to say next yr?, when we are watching GOW2 or the new FFX, are we again going to say wow now this is true next-gen?

To be honest neither does Heavenly Sword or Uncharted impress me in terms of graphics (except for the water in Uncharted), it's the richness and the fluidity of everything going on that really impressed me in those games.

Ratchet And Clank is definitely the most impressive looking one in terms of graphics and that rail-skating section looked great to play.
I dunno though, I haven't played any Ratchet And Clank game but I'm gonna look into buying them all to see if I like them.

Most people say it's for a younger crowd though?
But I hope I like it because the one on the PS3 looks like an unmissable game but if I don't like the ones on the PS2, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to miss it.

Im going to have to say that I have been wowed with the recent showing in sony's gamer's day. I loved Heavenly Sword, Rachet and Clank, and Uncharted. Folklore was okay but I view it different then when I did a while ago.
