I gues this is only something to buy if you don't have tekken 5 for the ps2 or this one for PSP

Oh dear, we got ourselves another GT-HD.
Bit dissapointing, thought they would clean some of those textures up.

It's a straight arcade port, with some updates, like resolution and Jinpchi. It's not dissappointing, as it's for people who never had Tekken 5, if you have the other versions there's no reason to get this. They're just making it easily available for people who never played the othet versions, which to me, is a fantastic thing.
The only way they could screw this up is by selling it for more than the price of the PS2 version, which they won't.

Arcade port though? Really? Those are some rubbish models for a game that came out alongside VF4. :O
In any case, PSP only Dark Resurrection was a complete insult to any serious fighting game fan (looking for the balance tweaks, most of all), and I hardly see how a PS3 port is gonna help matters.

Well I assume then you simply don't want Tekken 5 full stop. Otherwise there's little reason not to get this game outside of already having it.
I don't know why you're complaining, it's a downloadable title, which will most likely be cheap (Sony's pricing has been pretty good so far), and I doubt it's meant to be a Tekken 6 replacement. It's a filler, just like the now GTHD demo. Why is that bad? I doubt it'll divert alot of resources from Tekken 6. I mean it's not like Tecmo diverting resources from Ninja Gaiden 2 towards making DOAX2 is it? :P

Of course TN diverted resources on DOAX2.
Anyways Tekken is a waste of time these days, especially now that VF is on the PS3.

I think the biggest thing T5DR has going for it is obviously its balance tweaks over the console developed and rather rubbishly balanced T5. I think - however - that it's an insane mistake to not just release it as a straight-to-budget PS2 title like Sega did with Evolution.
I doubt people will want to shell out for a PS3 in order to have a proper representation of the current arcade version at home, not to mention the fact that their PS2 sticks won't work on the PS3. I'm glad I'm not overly into Tekken these days.

Tekken is definitely no slouch.. Well at least Tekken 3 wasn't.. and TTT was pretty hardcore aswell, as long as you kept to the top tier characters. It's definitely a completely different game from DOA and VF, and I actually enjoy it quite a bit myself.

5 is a bit of a redemption for sure, but it still has traces of icky 4 without the style, which I found to be the best thing about 4 really. In fact, the models in 4 are still fantastic in my opinion.

There's another rubbish review by me, briefly setting the record straight (well mine anyway) on T5.
