Interesting development. User reviews... not journalists seem all over the board on Lair... I hear it looks pretty darn good... too bad a lot of time and work was put into this game and its a shame thta the controls are hindering the title.

Yeah i read this in the week and thought it was funny, but i also read that the developers were stating that the code or office was cursed? or something to that effect :/

Well its actually funny...the only part I got to comment is this.

If they know how to play games...how come all of their gameplay videos they show they suck monkey ass?

Like in NG Sigma, they kept getting hit and I kept reading comments how bad they play that game and they they should let someone that is actually good in games to play it.

If a gameplay video sucks, then majority will go in common sense to say that the game is bad.

But once good gameplay videos shows with the same game in very "scripted" looking gameplay, which it was in actual gameplay majority will like it.

People who review the are the ones that have to play the entire game, maybe they are so bad at it that they give it a bad review and score from their experience.

But if a person play VERY good and then review it and score it, it will be good, depending on the game itself of course.

These are couple of the reasons I don't care about reviews.
Sure I just watch the view reviews for "fun", but its nothing I even consider about.

Reviewers guides are not un-common. Same as you often get the same blurb at press screening's for Films. It's not the fac that one exists that is humorous, just that it was late and needed 6 pages for the controls!

Not just that, but that their comments, especially the nasty ones about reviewers being too hardcore, and SUGGESTING they rereview the game after reading the review guides is a JOKE.

Haha I didn't see that, pure damage control. My initial impressions of the game were based on the notion that there was a month or so to go, they'll fix a few of these things, surely

The idea that a casual player will enjoy the controls more than someone with a greater experience in controlling video games with a joypad is completely absurd.

I'm not so sure about Haze and UT3. Both are multi-platform (eventually) and surely the UT fans will pick it up on PC and I'm not too sure Haze will do enough to pick up any momentum. If you want to play a console FPS this year, surely you're picking up a 360 and if not Halo 3, one of the others that are readily available.

I see Uncharted, Ratchet, Home & Little Big Planet (even if the latter two are betas) as having potential to do more for the platform than Haze IMO.

guys I have no idea how many of you ever played lair.

I didn't want to buy it because of the bad reviews but I won an auction and got it for 30euros. some of the best bucks I ever spent!! no kidding!

this game is just awesome!? WTF is wrong with the reviewers? it is simply one of the most amazing games I've ever played on any plattform since 1989! It is THE SHOWCASE for the PS3.

the controls are perfect and spot on (except the lockon system), grafics are amazing (1080i instead of 1080p does help the framerate a lot!) sound is just incredible, gameplay is so rewarding and cool.

I never ever played a game that I liked that much with such bad reviews. it has its faults and bugs but give it a try!!

dont believe the reviews, try it for yourself (at least 2h) and don't miss one of the most amazing pieces of software ever!! ok maybe you think its shitty afterwards but try it - I simply loving it! damn if I really had missed this game because of the reviews... what a shame that would have been!

tip: lair is a very dark game - dont be fooled and crank up the brightness on your sets! it is supposed to be dark - you are destroying its grafics if you crank up the brightness.
