Gamersyde Diaries: Turok

2007-12-07 09:31:55 by Snoopers

More than a month and half after our last Diaries devoted to The Simpsons, and after the release of numerous highly anticipated games as well as christmas blockbusters, publishers finally start to show-off their games again. It begins with the new Turok game by Propaganda, as usual presented with our impressions, lots of gameplay and real pieces of interview. Caution: this game might be a little bit gore...

Wow, absolutely awesome guys!! COMPLIMENTS!

Well, yeah, the game looks very good to me. Starting with an uninteresting indoor level, to come after that with such great outdoor levels... Those knife actions are stunning, can't find a word to discribe them. that's gonna be fun! The dinosaures are well done, with a lot of varities, great animations and cool sound. Especially that comodo-lion, so fast. How that little sucker runs and hides in the gras... and how the gras moves, that's just so cool, really frightening.
OK, the AI of human oppostes could be better. But the dinos are so great that it's not that worse.
And I think that online coop sounds very good!!

I personally think it looks really good.

Love games where dinosaurs are involved. I just think it makes the gameplay much more interesting.

Will most probably pick this one up! (Y)

Not bad at all. I agree with the hosts, but I specially like the way the dinos behave.

it looks "ok", but not great. i mean with all these great looking games out it`s hard to get excited over this one. i know it`s unfinished, but still....
to me it looks like the same thing over and over. look around - get jumped by dino, kill it in one of two ways (shoot, knife). at least in the clips it looks very repetitious. yeah i know it`s a shooter...of course it`s more or less the same thing over and over ;)

so it`s wait and see for me. (what else, hehe)

great program nevertheless ^_^ as always!

i like the way the dinos and the good guys animate, not so much the bad guys though. Seems like a pretty good game, but I can't explain why it doesn't seem like something i would buy...

i think the swarming dinos will offer some neat gameplay elements.

but seriously: do we need another shooter with protagonists like that? come on... this is getting old really fast.

When they implement some nice riddles, or some new game elements, to bring some new wind, it will be DA HIT! If it's just a shooter with some nice story and dino animations, it will still be a quite good game. I really love the athmosphere of the game, reminds me a bit of being a kid and watching for the first time Jurassic park at cinema... what an experience!! ^^
But today I'll go and buy Uncharted... yeeeppeeeehhhhh!!

Always nice to see a new gamersyde diary. However, if i can make one remark : I don't think you make it very clear who is actually presenting and making it.

On the forum the mods use nicknames like Blimblim, but in the video you use your real names. Why not add the nickname in it. It would be nice to link the people who make the website to the people in the video. it would make it all a bit more personnel.

Perhaps they want to keep a certain anonymity??

And how would they achieve that? The video shows their real names and the website their avatars. So it's not really about anonymity. It seems to me that it would be nice to know who's who and make the link between both.

Anyway, otherwise all is good. Great diary as usual !!

Looks okay, I watched some multiplayer footage and wasn't impressed. Single player looks okay though. If I rented video games, I'd rent this.
